I’m Colin Au Yeung (he/him), a HCI researcher interested in how we may design technology to support meaningful interactions in social spaces.

I’ve just recently finished my Master’s in Computer Science @ the University of Calgary with Dr. Lora Oehlberg in the Interactions Lab. My thesis is entitled “Virtual Attendees at Anime Conventions: Supporting Telepresence in Physical Third Places”.

My undergrad degree is in Computer Science at the University of Calgary with a minor in Political Science. My specialty in PoliSci was American-East Asian relations!

Beyond research, I have a passion for tangible computing, particularly in small hobby electronics to enable tactile experiences. I have really enjoyed 3D printing in the last few years.
